Young Allosaurus Cave Colouring

Meet a young Allosaurus on a gentle prehistoric adventure! In this colouring page, the curious dinosaur has stopped beside a shallow rocky cave and is leaning forward to inspect its dark entrance. Its whole body is visible, from the small ridges above its eyes and short three-fingered arms to its strong legs and long balancing tail. Rounded boulders, ferns, cycads, and distant Jurassic hills make the setting interesting without crowding the picture. The cave is shallow and welcoming, so the scene feels exciting rather than scary. Allosaurus lived during the Late Jurassic Period, about 155 to 145 million years ago. Most of its fossils have been found in western North America, especially in the famous Morrison Formation, although close relatives lived elsewhere. A large adult could reach roughly 8 to 10 metres from nose to tail, but the young explorer shown here would have been much smaller and more lightly built. Allosaurus walked on two powerful hind legs and used its long tail for balance. It had a deep skull, subtle crests above the eyes, sharp teeth, and three clawed fingers on each hand. Scientists study bones and trackways to learn how it grew and moved, but many details of its daily life remain wonderful questions to investigate. Begin colouring with the young Allosaurus. Try warm sandy brown, olive green, rusty orange, or any imaginative dinosaur colour you enjoy. Make its belly a lighter shade and add small spots or stripes along the back if you wish. Colour the eye carefully so its curious expression stays bright. Use grey, tan, and soft brown for the cave and rocks, then colour the ferns in several greens. The distant land can be pale green or ochre, while the open sky may be blue, pink, or a sunset blend. Leave some highlights white and press lightly for smooth areas; press harder along the edges for depth. Can you add a tiny trail of footprints leading toward the cave?
