Weightlifting Colouring Page

Olympic-style weightlifting is a strength and technique sport built around two competition lifts: the snatch, and the clean and jerk. In the snatch, an athlete moves the barbell from the floor to overhead in one continuous action. In the clean and jerk, the bar first reaches the shoulders and is then driven overhead. Both lifts require speed, balance, mobility, and precise timing as well as strength. Young athletes do not begin with heavy competition attempts. They learn safe body positions using a wooden stick, an empty training bar, or light plates chosen by a qualified coach. Squats are common training exercises because they strengthen the legs and teach an athlete to keep the chest tall, knees controlled, and feet firmly planted. In a front squat, the bar rests across the front of the shoulders while the athlete bends and stands with a stable middle. The goal is good movement, not lifting the biggest number. Training should happen on a clear platform with suitable equipment and adult supervision. Children warm up, use collars to secure plates when needed, keep hands away from dropped weights, and never walk across another lifter's platform. A coach decides appropriate loads and teaches how to stop safely. Lifters take turns, encourage good technique, and return equipment neatly. This page shows a smiling young athlete practising a light front squat. The bar sits across the shoulders, the feet are apart on a flat platform, and a coach stands close with hands ready to help. A rack, a few organised plates, and simple gym windows create an understandable setting. Colour the training plates in matching pairs so both ends of the bar look balanced. You could use bright green, blue, yellow, or red, while making the metal bar silver grey. Give the athlete a bold two-colour training outfit and shoes with a contrasting sole. The coach's clothes can use calmer versions of the same colours. Try pale tan or grey for the platform, then colour the plate rack and gym equipment in darker shades. Keep the background light so the athlete remains the focus. Use round strokes inside the weight plates, straight strokes along the bar, and short careful strokes around hands, shoe laces, and knees. As you colour, notice the level bar, upright chest, balanced feet, and watchful coach. Careful technique and gradual progress make strength training safer and more rewarding.
