Vermilion Flycatcher Pair Page

A bright male Vermilion Flycatcher darts through the air after an insect while the female watches from a fence post beside a desert stream. Colour the male fiery red or orange with dark brown wings and tail. Give the female soft grey-brown feathers with a peach or pale red belly. Use sandy tan for the desert ground, blue for the stream, green for grasses and shrubs, and weathered brown for the fence. Colour the flying bird and insect first, then the perched female and simple landscape. Keep the sky open so the quick mid-air chase remains easy to see.
