Tiger Family Colouring

Follow an adult tiger and two curious cubs as they walk beside a gentle jungle stream. Tigers are native to Asia, where different populations live from the cold forests of the Russian Far East to tropical forests, grasslands, and mangrove swamps in countries such as India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. An adult tiger can measure roughly 2 to 3 metres from nose to tail and may weigh from about 90 to more than 250 kilograms, depending on its sex and subspecies. In the wild, many tigers live around 10 to 15 years. Unlike lions, adult tigers usually travel alone. A mother, however, stays closely connected to her cubs and teaches them for about one and a half to two years. Young cubs practise balance, stalking, climbing, and safe exploration through play. Tigers are powerful swimmers, and they often cool down or cross water with ease. Every tiger has its own stripe pattern, rather like a fingerprint. The outlined stripes on this family make the animals easy to recognise, while the stream, reeds, broad jungle leaves, stones, and tree trunk show a rich waterside habitat. Traditional tiger colours are orange with black or dark brown stripes, a creamy belly, and white patches around the eyes and cheeks. Begin with a light orange base so you can darken selected areas later. Keep the stripes neat and strong, or invent a fantasy tiger family with gold, rust, pale blue, or purple stripes. The cubs can be a softer shade than the adult. Colour the stream light blue or turquoise, add grey and tan to the smooth stones, and use several greens for the jungle plants. A brown tree trunk will frame the family without stealing attention. Broad crayons are useful for the big bodies and water. Coloured pencils help with the narrow stripes, whiskers, paws, eyes, and ripples. Try short strokes on the fur and long flowing strokes on the stream. Leave a little white space on the water to suggest reflected light. Most importantly, colour slowly around the bold outlines and enjoy deciding whether this tiger family is beginning an adventure, searching for a cool drinking place, or simply taking a peaceful morning walk together.
