Swallow Returning to Its Nest Colouring Page

A swallow returns to a mud nest tucked beneath a sheltered ledge. The bird approaches with pointed wings open, forked tail spread and feet lowered towards the cup. The nest entrance and the returning flight path form a clear homecoming scene. How to colour: Colour the flying swallow's head, back and upper wings glossy blue-black, its forehead and throat chestnut red, and its underside warm cream. Use dark navy for the forked tail, pale grey for the feet and bill, and tan, ochre and warm brown for the mud nest. Make the ledge cool light grey. Follow the wing feathers with long pencil strokes and darken their overlapping bases. Colour the nest with small circular marks, add a darker brown inner opening and use faint sky blue around the wing tips to make the approaching bird stand out.
