Swallow Family Under a Rooftop Colouring Page

Two adult swallows gather with three young chicks in a mud nest beneath a rooftop. One adult stands at the nest rim while the other perches nearby, and the chicks look up from the cup. The five birds form a close family group in their sheltered nesting place. How to colour: Give both adults glossy blue-black heads, backs and wings, chestnut-red foreheads and throats, warm-cream bellies and dark navy forked tails. Colour the chicks soft brown-grey with pale cream throats and muted yellow bill edges. Use tan, ochre and warm brown for the mud nest, terracotta for the roof tiles and cool grey for the wooden support. Work on one bird at a time, use smooth strokes on adult feathers and short soft strokes on chick down. Deepen the gaps between mud pellets and shade beneath the roof to frame the family.
