Sprinting Colouring Page

Sprinting means running a short distance as quickly and smoothly as possible. Track-and-field sprint races commonly use straight or oval lanes, with runners starting together and racing to the same finish line. Different events cover different distances, but every sprinter practises a strong start, quick steps, relaxed shoulders, and a steady forward rhythm. People have raced on foot since ancient times, and organised sprinting became a central part of modern athletics. For children, short playful runs can build coordination and confidence without requiring a long race. The colouring page shows three happy runners staying in their own lanes as they reach a finish ribbon. Their arms bend beside their bodies, their feet lift from the track, and their eyes look forward. Sprinting develops balance, leg strength, reaction, and determination. Safety begins before the start: warm up gently, check that shoelaces are tied, use a dry clear running surface, and leave enough stopping space beyond the finish. Runners should never push, cut across a lane, or stop suddenly in front of someone. A cool-down walk and a drink of water help after practice. True sportsmanship means trying your best, accepting the result, and cheering every finisher. Begin by giving each runner a unique shirt colour so all three are easy to follow. You might choose red, yellow, and blue, then add matching sock or shoe details. Use different natural skin tones and any hair colours you enjoy. Colour the running track warm brick red, cool blue, or sandy tan, while keeping the lane lines pale and clean. The finish ribbon can be striped in two bright colours; colour slowly around its curves so it remains clearly in front of the runners. Add soft greens to the trees and grass and light blue to the open sky. You can shade the nearest parts of the track slightly darker and the distant area lighter to suggest depth. Small highlights left white on the shoes and ribbon will make the page lively. Finally, add a few cheering flags beyond the track or draw a tiny sun overhead, keeping the runners as the main focus.
