Skiing Colouring Page

Alpine skiing is the activity and sport of gliding downhill over snow on two long skis. Boots fasten securely into bindings, and poles can help with rhythm and balance. Ski resorts mark trails by difficulty, prepare the snow, and use lifts to carry people uphill. Racing disciplines include slalom, giant slalom, super-G, and downhill, but a beginner starts on a gentle learning slope. One of the first useful positions is the snowplough or wedge: the ski tips point closer together while the tails spread apart. By pressing gently against the snow and shifting balance, a learner can slow down and begin turning. Relaxed bent knees, hands held forward, and eyes looking downhill help the skier stay ready. Skiing builds balance, leg strength, coordination, confidence, and awareness of terrain. Mountain weather and speed require careful preparation. Children should ski with a qualified instructor or capable adult, wear a fitted helmet, warm layered clothing, gloves, goggles, and properly adjusted boots and bindings. They stay on suitable marked trails, obey signs and lift rules, keep distance from other skiers, look uphill before starting, and stop only where they can be seen. Skiers control their speed and give the person ahead the right of way. This colouring page shows a smiling child making a controlled wedge turn on a broad beginner slope. The helmet, goggles, skis, bindings, boots, and two poles are clearly visible, and an instructor follows at a safe distance. Simple pine trees, gentle hills, a small trail marker without words, and falling snowflakes create a friendly mountain setting. Colour the ski jacket in a bright combination such as red and blue, orange and turquoise, or purple and yellow so the child would be easy to see on snow. Match the helmet and goggles, then give the skis a bold stripe or simple geometric pattern. Poles can be silver with colourful grips and baskets. Use darker calm colours for the instructor's clothing. Leave most snow white, adding pale blue or lavender along curves to suggest cool shadows. Pine trees can use deep and light greens with white snow on their branches, while the sky may be soft blue. Use long strokes along the skis and slope, curved strokes around the wedge turn, and careful short strokes near bindings, gloves, and goggles. As you colour, notice the bent knees, forward hands, wide ski tails, and watchful instructor that help a beginner control speed safely.
