Sharing Christmas Gifts Colouring

Two children have carried a basket of Christmas gifts through the snow to an elderly neighbour's home. They hold the large basket together, showing teamwork, while the neighbour opens the door with a welcoming smile. Small wrapped parcels peek above the basket rim, a wreath decorates the door and a little evergreen stands beside the snowy step. The scene is less about receiving and more about noticing others, sharing what we have and making a neighbour feel remembered. Children can observe the warm winter clothes, the strong basket handle, the different bows and the open hand that welcomes the visitors. It offers a gentle starting point for talking about kindness, friendship across generations and safe ways families can help people in their community during Christmas. Colour the winter clothes first. Try two different coat colours, such as red and blue, with matching hats, scarves and boots. The fluffy hat tops and boot trims can remain white, or they can be pale cream. Choose varied natural skin and hair tones for all three people. The neighbour's cardigan or coat might be a calm purple, green or warm brown, helping the bright children and basket stand out. Add a little rose to each smiling cheek for a chilly outdoor feeling. Make the woven basket golden brown, using a slightly darker brown between its brick-like strips. Colour each present separately: one might be green with a red bow, another yellow with blue ribbon and a third purple with white dots. The large bow on the basket can repeat the brightest gift colour. Use rich green for the door wreath and small potted tree, then add red berries or ribbon details. The door may be deep blue, red or wood brown, while the step and snow remain mostly white. A pale blue edge beneath the snow can suggest cool shadows without filling the whole area. Younger artists can focus on coats, basket and door. Older children can add tiny checks, stripes or spots to scarves and gift wrap. Carefully work around fingers gripping the handle so the shared action stays clear. Finish by colouring the doorway lightly, keeping faces bright. The completed picture can be a reminder that thoughtful giving, a friendly visit and a warm welcome are all meaningful Christmas gifts.
