Scarlet Macaw Chick Peeking from a Tree-Hole Nest Colouring Page

A young scarlet macaw chick peeks from a rounded tree-hole nest, resting its small feet on the lower edge of the opening. Its short tail, partly grown wing feathers and curious curved bill show that it is still developing. The close view keeps the single chick as the clear focus. How to colour: Use soft coral and warm red for the chick's head and chest, pale golden yellow on the growing middle wing feathers, and gentle blue-grey on the wing tips and short tail. Keep the facial patch white, colour the upper bill light ivory, the lower bill charcoal and the feet soft grey. Make the tree trunk warm brown with ochre highlights and deeper brown inside the nest hole. Apply short fluffy strokes around the head and chest, smooth strokes on the new feathers and lengthwise pencil marks on the bark. Darken the nest interior gradually so the chick remains bright.
