Santa Cocoa Break Colouring

Santa is taking a well-earned cocoa break at a small workshop table. He holds a steaming mug of hot chocolate with both hands while a smiling elf brings a plate of round cookies. A shelf of simple toys, wrapped gifts and a little Christmas tree shows that work will continue after the rest. Count the marshmallows in Santa's mug, compare the cookies on the plate and find the train, teddy and gift boxes on the shelf. This friendly scene shows that even busy helpers need time to pause, warm up and enjoy one another's company. It also celebrates hospitality: the elf notices Santa is tired and brings a thoughtful snack to share Christmas kindness. Colour Santa's suit classic red, deep green or another festive shade, keeping his beard and trim mostly white with pale blue or cream details. Give the elf a contrasting outfit, perhaps green with red stripes, blue with silver or purple with yellow buttons. The cocoa can be warm brown, the marshmallows pale cream and the mug any bright colour that stands apart from Santa's gloves. Make the cookies golden with chocolate-brown dots, and choose a clear plate colour so their round shapes remain visible. Use several small repeats of the clothing colours on the toys and gift bows. Begin with the large characters and table, then work upward to the shelf and tree. Broad crayons are ideal for Santa's coat, the tabletop and the elf's tunic. Coloured pencils make it easier to colour cookie dots, toy wheels, steam curves and tiny belt details. Younger artists can use single bold colours and leave the background white. Older children may add a simple wood grain to the table, gentle shading beneath the plate and darker edges around the cocoa mug. Keep the curling steam very light so it looks soft and warm. Leave small white highlights on the mug, train wheels and ornaments. Try not to use the same colour on the elf's sleeve and the plate where they touch, because contrasting shades make the action easier to understand. Finish with a calm background colour, and let the completed picture remind everyone that resting and caring for helpers are part of a happy celebration.
