Reindeer Practice Colouring

Two young reindeer are learning how to pull a small sleigh around a snowy practice course. Their safe shared harness joins neatly to the empty sleigh, and three cone-shaped markers show the curved route they must follow. A low fence and a pair of fir trees sit in the distance, leaving plenty of clear space around the moving team. The reindeer look eager rather than rushed, turning practice into a happy Christmas lesson. The scene celebrates cooperation, patience, and the idea that important skills grow one careful step at a time. Even Santa’s reindeer need to listen, work together, and practise before a big journey. Children can cheer for the team and imagine a gentle bell ringing after each successful lap. Start by tracing the route with a finger from the first cone, around the curve, and toward the next marker. Follow the harness straps from each reindeer to the sleigh, then count antlers, hooves, runners, fence posts, cones, and fir trees. Notice how the legs are in different positions to show trotting movement. The open reindeer bodies, snowy field, and sleigh panels can be filled with crayons. Use pencils for the narrow harness, antlers, runner edges, and small facial details. Colouring the two reindeer with related but different shades helps children see them as a team while still giving each one a personality. Try caramel for one coat and warm grey-brown for the other, with cream chests and darker hooves. Antlers can be chocolate brown, and the harness might be bright red with golden yellow buckles. Make the sleigh festive with green side panels, red runners, or a blue-and-silver winter design. Each practice cone can use a different strong colour so the route is easy to see. Keep the snow white in the centre and brush pale blue or lavender along the curved path, beneath the runners, and under the hooves. The fir trees can use dark green near the front edges and lighter green toward the snowy tips. Use short strokes for fluffy fur, smooth strokes for the wooden sleigh, and gentle circular strokes for snow. Older children may add simple stripes to the sleigh blanket area or tiny bells along the harness. Finish by choosing names for both trainees and imagining the encouraging words they hear as they complete the course together.
