Rainbow Kite Park Colouring

A girl and a boy enjoy flying kites in a breezy park while a rainbow stretches above them. A curious squirrel sits near the bench and watches the ribbons dance. This feels like a spring afternoon after a brief shower, when the clouds are moving away but tiny raindrops still remain in the bright air. Sunlight bends and reflects inside those drops, separating into the colours of a rainbow. The Sun is usually behind the person looking, and the rainbow appears in the opposite part of the sky. Kites fly because moving air pushes against their surfaces. The string holds a kite at an angle, and the combination of lift, drag, weight, and tension helps it stay aloft. A steady breeze is better than a stormy wind. Children should fly kites with an adult in a large open place, far from roads, trees, airports, power lines, and thunderclouds. The squirrel is another park visitor. Squirrels use their sharp claws to climb and their fluffy tails for balance and warmth. They eat seeds, nuts, fruits, and other natural foods. Watch them from a distance rather than chasing or feeding them, because wild animals need to keep their own safe habits. Colour the rainbow in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, or choose seven colours that repeat in a clear order. Make the two diamond kites different: perhaps one is red and yellow while the other is blue and green. Repeat one colour in each bow along the tails so the designs feel connected. Give the children bright play clothes, but keep each shirt and pair of shorts simple enough to colour with broad, even strokes. The bench may be warm brown, the grass fresh green, and the clearing sky pale blue. A park squirrel can be grey, reddish brown, or golden brown with a lighter tummy. Use short furry strokes on its tail and smooth strokes on the kite panels. Carefully trace the long strings with your eyes before colouring around them. Leave a little white around the rainbow bands and moving ribbons so every shape stays crisp. The completed page should feel windy, safe, and joyful after spring rain.
