Portuguese Water Dog Page

A lively Portuguese Water Dog stands on a seaside dock beside a coiled rope and gentle waves. These strong swimmers have curly or wavy waterproof coats, broad paws and happy working-dog energy. Colour the fur black, brown, white, or a patchy mix, leaving a white chest, muzzle or paws if you wish. Make the collar and rope bright or warm brown, use cool blues for the sea and natural wood colours for the dock. Begin with the friendly face, follow the curls using loose rounded strokes and colour around the white markings carefully. Finish the waves with simple horizontal lines so the adventurous water dog stays bold and easy to see.
