Polar Bear Cubs Colouring

Travel across a snowy Arctic landscape with a mother polar bear and two cubs. Polar bears live around the Arctic Ocean in regions belonging to Canada, Alaska in the United States, Greenland, Norway, and Russia. They depend strongly on sea ice, using it as a platform for travelling and hunting seals. They also visit islands, snowy coasts, and tundra. The snowdrifts, ice hummocks, distant hills, and frozen water on this page show a wide northern home. Polar bears are the largest living bears. Adult females are often about 1.8 to 2.4 metres long and may weigh roughly 150 to 300 kilograms, while adult males are usually much larger. In the wild they can live about 20 to 25 years. Their fur looks white or creamy but each hair is actually clear, and black skin underneath absorbs warmth. A thick layer of fat helps insulate the body. Huge paws spread weight on ice, provide grip, and work like paddles when these excellent swimmers cross cold water. Mother polar bears dig maternity dens in snow or earth, where tiny cubs are born during winter. The cubs stay warm and drink rich milk before the family emerges. They remain with their mother for more than two years, learning how to travel safely, rest, swim, and find food. Polar bears usually spend much of their time alone, so the close bond between a mother and her cubs is especially important. In this picture, both cubs walk cheerfully beside the adult across the snow. You can leave much of the fur white and add very pale blue, lavender, cream, or cool grey along the outer edges to show shape. Keep the muzzles light and colour the noses, paw pads, and eyes charcoal or black, leaving a small white eye sparkle. Make the snow mostly white with gentle blue or violet shadows. Sea ice may be icy blue, turquoise, or pale grey, and the distant hills can be soft purple or blue. Broad, light crayon strokes work well on the snow and big adult bear. Use pencils for cub paws, ears, facial details, ice cracks, and distant lines. Avoid filling every space heavily; the open white areas will help the Arctic scene feel bright, cold, and spacious.
