Pigeon Pecking Grains on the Ground Colouring Page

A pigeon bends its head towards scattered grains on the ground. Its rounded body, folded wing and slender toes make the familiar bird easy to recognise. The little grains give it something to investigate, while the simple outdoor setting keeps attention on its gentle pecking pose. How to colour: Use light blue-grey for the body, slate grey for the head and charcoal for the two wing bars and tail tip. Add small emerald-green and violet patches on the neck, coral pink on the feet and dark grey on the bill, leaving the patch above the bill white. Colour the grains golden yellow and the ground pale tan. Begin with light pencil layers, follow the feathers with short strokes and deepen the grey beneath the wing and belly. Keep a tiny white highlight in the eye for a lively finish.
