Pigeon Carrying a Twig for Nest Building Colouring Page

A pigeon holds a slender twig in its bill beside a simple nest. The bird appears ready to add the new piece to the growing collection of sticks. Its rounded chest, folded wing and carefully held twig show an everyday nest-building activity, with the nearby branch supporting the quiet scene. How to colour: Use pale blue-grey on the body, slate grey on the head and charcoal on the wing bars and tail tip. Add small violet and emerald-green areas to the neck, then colour the feet coral pink and the bill dark grey. Make the carried twig ochre brown, the nest tan and chestnut, and the branch warm brown with green leaves. Colour the bird first using smooth, light pencil strokes. Use a sharp brown pencil along each twig, and deepen the overlapping sticks to make the nest look loosely woven.
