Paradise Shelduck Family Page

A male and female Paradise Shelduck stand together beside a New Zealand lake while their ducklings explore the grass nearby. Mountains and shoreline plants frame the calm family scene. Colour one adult with a dark head and chestnut body, and give the other a pale head with warm rust-coloured feathers. The ducklings can be cream, brown and yellow. Use clear blue for the lake, grey or purple for distant mountains and several greens and golds for the grasses. Begin with the family group, then add gentle colour to the water and landscape without making the background too busy.
