Paper Decorations Colouring

Three young makers are enjoying a Christmas craft session around a big table. One child links curved paper strips into a chain, another proudly opens a delicate paper snowflake, and the third holds a folded star. Sheets of paper, safe rounded scissors and glue are arranged where everyone can reach them. A simple Christmas tree and a small shelf make the room cosy while leaving plenty of space around the children and their creations. This picture invites children to notice three different kinds of paper decoration and to think about how flat paper can be cut, folded and joined into surprising shapes. Crafting together encourages patience, sharing and helpful teamwork, and handmade decorations can become special keepsakes that families bring out each Christmas. Choose a bright colour plan before you begin. The paper chain can alternate red and green links, use a rainbow order, or repeat two favourite colours. Colour the large star with yellow, gold, blue or pink, and make each folded section a slightly different shade. The snowflake may remain white, but a pale blue outline or small silver details can help its cut shapes stand out. Remember that the holes inside the snowflake show the space behind it, so colour those areas to match the child's clothing or the room. Give each child a unique outfit. Try one warm sweater in red, another in green and a third in blue or purple. Add simple stripes to sleeves or collars if you enjoy smaller details. Hair can be black, brown, golden, red or any imaginative shade, and skin tones can be varied naturally. Colour the scissors with bright handles and pale metal blades, the glue bottle with a simple cheerful label area but no words, and the loose paper strips in several colours. Use gentle greens on the tree and pick strong shades for its baubles. Keep the tabletop light enough that the craft materials remain clear. Younger children can colour the largest clothes, table and tree shapes with crayons. Older children can add dots, zigzags or tiny stars to the blank paper sheets. Work slowly around fingers and overlapping loops, then finish the quiet background with soft colours. The completed page should feel as lively and inventive as a real afternoon of Christmas crafting.
