Kho-Kho Colouring Page

Kho-kho is an energetic team chasing game that developed in India. It is played on a long rectangular court with a central lane and a pole at each end. Members of the chasing team sit or kneel along the middle lane facing alternating directions. One active chaser moves around them and tries to tag a runner from the defending team. A seated teammate can be activated with a clear “kho” touch and call, while direction and lane rules make the chase a clever puzzle as well as a race. School versions can be adjusted for younger children with shorter distances and gentle tags. In this page, three teammates sit along the centre lane while a smiling chaser curves around the near pole and a dodger runs into open space. The second pole can be seen at the far end, helping you understand the shape of the court. Kho-kho builds speed, listening, turning, teamwork, and awareness of where other people are moving. For safe play, children need a flat surface, well-tied shoes, a warm-up, and enough space around both poles. Chasers should use a light tag rather than a push, seated players should keep hands safely close, and everyone must obey the teacher’s stop signal. Good players praise clever dodges and patient teamwork. Start colouring the two active runners so they stand out. Give the chaser a bright shirt such as red, orange, or purple, and the dodger a contrasting shade such as blue, green, or yellow. The seated teammates can share one team palette while still having different socks or shoes. Colour the end poles in bold bands, but leave the central court lines pale and clear. The playing ground can be sandy beige, clay orange, or soft green depending on where you imagine the match. Use gentle greens for the distant bushes and trees and light blue for the sky. Avoid making every small grass tuft dark; a few varied green touches will keep the page airy. You can add your own team flags beyond the boundary or a sun peeking between the clouds. Finish by checking that the central lane, both poles, and the safe running paths are easy to see.
