Grebe Floating Nest Colouring

A parent grebe sits on a floating pile of reeds and water plants while another grebe swims nearby with one chick. Lily pads, cattails, a friendly frog and gentle ripples surround the nest without connecting it to the shore. Colour the grebes with chestnut, black, white and warm brown feathers, and give the chick soft striped shades. Make the floating reeds golden, tan and green, the water clear blue and the lily pads bright green. The frog can be green, yellow or spotted. Colour the nest edge and water around it first so the floating island remains clearly separate from the land.
