Giza Great Pyramid Colouring

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest pyramid in Egypt and the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. It stands on the Giza Plateau near Cairo and was built as the royal tomb of King Khufu, who ruled around 2589-2566 BCE. The pyramid originally rose about 146.5 metres, making it the tallest human-made structure in the world for roughly 3,800 years. Its core contains vast quantities of local limestone. Smooth, high-quality white limestone from Tura once covered the outside, so the monument would have gleamed in sunlight. Most casing stones are now gone, revealing the giant stepped courses underneath. Historians estimate that construction took about 10 to 20 years, but the exact methods used to organise, move and lift the blocks are still studied and debated. Inside are three main chambers: one cut into the bedrock and two placed higher within the masonry. The upper King's Chamber contains a stone sarcophagus and is reached through the soaring corbelled Grand Gallery. Archaeologists also discovered dismantled wooden ships in pits beside the pyramid. These finds help explain the religious and ceremonial world surrounding Khufu's burial, while workers' settlements and tombs show the human community behind the project. The entire pyramid field from Giza to Dahshur is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage property. This colouring scene uses a camel and guide on a winding path to show how enormous the pyramid is. Start with cream, pale gold, sandy beige or soft grey for the limestone blocks. Use two nearby shades across different courses, but leave the top and sunlit side brightest. Colour the camel caramel or chestnut with a bright saddle blanket, and give the guide a white robe with red, blue or green details. Make the distant pyramids slightly paler so they seem far away. A golden sun, light blue sky and peach desert will create a warm Giza morning. Follow each row of stones with long horizontal strokes, then use curved strokes on the path and dunes. Leave tiny white highlights on the camel and stone edges. The strong triangle and huge blocks should remain the clearest shapes on the finished page.
