Flying Tippler Colouring

The Flying Tippler is an English endurance pigeon bred to remain on the wing for remarkably long periods. Its early history is partly traditional rather than perfectly recorded. In a 1932 account, Job Ofield wrote that there was no firm record of its origination, although fanciers generally believed its source was around Rainow, near Macclesfield in England. That makes the region useful history, but there is no responsible reason to claim one inventor. Tipplers are medium-small, light, and streamlined, with a smooth head, efficient long wings, a tapered tail, clean legs, and a balanced stance. They fly in a small team called a kit and are judged for endurance under organised rules. A breed-specific lifespan has not been firmly established. Long flights demand expert conditioning, suitable weather, rest, food, water, and close attention to welfare; children should admire the birds, while experienced adults manage any training. The colouring scene shows a Tippler resting safely on a rooftop landing board. Colour it blue-grey, silver, bronze, black, red, white, or a neatly marked combination. A blue bird can have dark wing bars, while a bronze bird can glow with warm brown and copper pencils. The rooftops may be brick red, grey, or brown, and the chimneys can be pale stone. Keep the clouds white with a light blue outline so the open sky feels wide. Begin with the long folded wing and follow each feather toward the tail. Use smooth, light strokes on the chest to keep the body looking airy rather than heavy. Add a darker shade under the wing and at the tail tip. Beginners can use one main body colour; older artists can add bars, small ticks, or a subtle bronze sheen. Do not cover the landing board with too many details, because the sleek pigeon should remain the focus. Finish with a soft morning sky and imagine the bird resting, drinking, and eating after returning home with its kit. Count the wing sections and notice how their length helps explain the breed’s special endurance.
