Cricket Colouring Page

Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport enjoyed in many countries. Its early forms were played in England hundreds of years ago, and today children and adults play it on fields, in parks, and in stadiums around the world. Two teams take turns batting and fielding. A batter tries to score runs by striking the ball and running between two sets of wickets, while the fielding team tries to catch the ball, hit the stumps, or stop runs. Matches can be short or last much longer, but every version rewards patience, teamwork, careful watching, and smart decisions. The main equipment is a flat wooden bat, a hard ball, and two wickets made from three upright stumps with small bails on top. Batters and wicketkeepers wear protective pads, gloves, and helmets because safety always comes first. Young players often begin with a soft ball and practise under an adult coach. A good batter keeps balanced feet and watches the ball; a wicketkeeper stays low and ready. Players should wait for instructions, keep a safe distance from swinging bats, encourage teammates, and respect the umpire. Cricket is not only about hitting hard: gentle control, accurate throwing, quick running, and fair play are just as important. This colouring page shows a smiling batter playing a safe shot while a friendly wicketkeeper crouches behind the stumps. Start with the large shapes. You might colour the grass bright green and leave the pitch sandy tan. Choose any cheerful team colours for the shirts, trousers, helmet, gloves, and pads, but use a matching colour family so the uniform looks connected. A cricket ball is often red or white, while the bat can be pale brown with a darker handle. Colour the stumps light wood, then add blue to the sky and different greens to the trees. Try lighter pressure on the clouds and stronger colour on the players so the action stands out. Keep the small white seams on the ball visible. You can also add a tiny team flag beyond the boundary without covering the open spaces.
