Christmas Toy Train Colouring

Chug into a cosy Christmas scene with a little toy train circling a beautifully decorated tree. The round track makes an easy path to follow, while the locomotive and two open carriages carry a cheerful collection of wrapped presents. Children can look for the big star at the top of the tree, the round baubles, the looping garlands, the bows on the parcels and the connecting parts between the train cars. This picture celebrates the excitement of holiday play, the fun of giving and the way a favourite toy can become part of a family Christmas tradition. It is also a lovely page for talking about how presents are chosen with care and shared with kindness. Start colouring with the train because its large shapes are easy to fill. Try a bright red engine with a green roof, or invent a blue, purple or golden train. Colour every carriage differently, then give the wheels matching centres. The presents can become a parade of festive colours: red paper with green ribbons, blue paper with yellow bows, or any imaginative combination. Use two shades on the track, such as brown for the sleepers and silver-grey for the rails, but leave a thin white gap beside the outlines so the drawing stays crisp. Next, make the tree rich and lively. Use several greens on separate layers of branches, yellow or gold for the star, and bright colours for the baubles. The garlands could be red, silver, blue or rainbow striped. Colour the flowerpot in a warm earthy shade and choose gentle colours for the rug, curtains and chair so the train and tree remain the stars of the page. Young colourists can use crayons and broad strokes in the largest spaces. Older children might add tiny dots, stripes or snowflake patterns inside the blank gift wrap without crossing the thick outlines. Finish by checking small details such as ribbons, window panes, wheel hubs and the engine chimney. Your completed page can look traditional, wonderfully modern or completely magical.
