Beauty Homer Colouring

The German Beauty Homer is a show pigeon from Germany, admired for a smooth, elegant outline rather than for racing results. The National Pigeon Association lists it in the form group. Its most important clue is the clean, flowing profile: a broad rounded forehead should merge neatly into a stout beak, while the head, neck, chest, and streamlined body look balanced from every angle. The eye is bright, the cere is small and tidy, the neck is strong, and the folded wings form a neat wedge toward the tail. German fanciers developed this refined homer type through patient selection, but the sources used here do not justify naming one sole developer or one exact creation year. It is a medium-to-large fancy pigeon with a powerful yet graceful build. A separate scientifically measured lifespan for the breed is not available; like other domestic pigeons, it may enjoy many years when provided with clean housing, safe exercise, balanced food, fresh water, and expert care. The page places the Beauty Homer in a simple German village garden. You can colour it blue-grey with black wing bars, pure white, deep black, red, yellow, silver, or a checked pattern. Keep the little cere pale, and use orange, pearl, or dark brown around the eye depending on your chosen feather colour. The geranium leaves can be rich green, with red or pink flowers. Colour the half-timbered houses cream and brown, and keep the distant church tower light so it does not compete with the bird. Start with the broadest body areas and use long strokes that follow the sleek shape. Add a darker tone beneath the wing and at the tail tip. On a barred bird, draw the two wing bars evenly so they appear to wrap around the folded feathers. The smooth forehead-to-beak line is the breed’s special feature, so colour that area slowly and leave the outline crisp. Younger children may choose one feather colour; older colourers can blend blue-grey into soft silver. Finish with a pale sky and a warm path, then imagine this proud pigeon preparing for a friendly local show.
