Baseball Colouring Page

Baseball is a bat-and-ball team sport that developed into its modern form in North America during the nineteenth century. Two teams take turns batting and fielding. A batter tries to hit a pitched ball and run safely around four bases arranged in a diamond. Reaching home plate can score a run. Fielders try to catch the ball, touch a base before a runner arrives, or tag a runner according to the rules. A game is divided into innings, giving both teams chances to bat. Children often start with tee-ball or soft training balls and shorter base paths. Baseball equipment includes a round ball with curved seams, a smooth bat, fielding gloves, bases, and protective gear. Batters wear helmets, and catchers use a mask, chest protector, shin guards, and a large mitt. Players should warm up, check the field, and listen carefully to the coach. Only the batter swings inside the marked area, while everyone else stays well back. Throwing, catching, batting, running, and judging when to stop are all learned step by step. Good teammates call for catches, encourage every hitter, respect the umpire, and never tease someone who misses. Attention and fair play matter more than hitting the ball far. On this page, a smiling batter safely completes a swing while a fully protected catcher waits behind home plate. Colour the baseball white or cream and use red for the curved stitch marks so it is easy to recognize. The bat can be pale wood brown, silver grey, or a bright team colour. Choose one bold colour for the batting helmet and echo it on the shirt, belt, or socks. Give the catcher different team colours and carefully colour the mask, chest pad, knee guards, and mitt. The glove may be tan or dark brown. Use warm beige for the infield dirt, bright green for the outfield, and pale blue for the sky. Keep home plate and the foul lines white for strong contrast. Work slowly around the ball seams and catcher’s mask, then use long strokes across the open field. You can add a small pennant beyond the fence using only shapes, with no letters or logos.
