Badminton Colouring Page

Badminton is a lively racket sport played with a shuttlecock instead of a ball. Games using feathered shuttles are very old, while the organized modern sport took shape in the nineteenth century, with links to Britain and British India. One player faces one player in singles, or two pairs play doubles. The goal is to strike the shuttlecock over the net so it lands inside the other side’s court. A rally ends when the shuttle touches the floor, goes outside the lines, or is not returned. Because a shuttle slows quickly in the air, players use timing, placement, and quick footwork rather than only strength. Badminton equipment includes a light racket, a shuttlecock with a rounded cork base and a feather-like skirt, a net, and non-slip court shoes. Beginners can practise gently tapping the shuttle upward, serving underhand, and sending it to a partner. Players need space around their rackets, so children should never swing when someone is close. A clear dry floor, warm-up movements, water breaks, and adult supervision help everyone play safely. Teammates communicate before reaching for the same shot. They also respect line calls, return the shuttle politely, and keep encouraging each other. These habits build concentration, balance, speed, and cooperation. In the colouring scene, one child reaches up to meet the shuttlecock while a smiling partner waits behind the net. Make the shuttle’s rounded tip white, cream, or pale grey and colour the feather shapes in a bright repeating pattern. Racket frames can be blue, pink, green, orange, or purple, with very light strings so the grid remains easy to see. Choose two cheerful outfit palettes, perhaps teal and yellow for one player and red and white for the other. The court may be mint green or light wood brown, with crisp white or pale yellow lines. Colour the net posts dark blue and leave most net squares unfilled. The high windows can show a soft blue sky or green treetops outside. Use long even strokes across the floor and smaller strokes around the hands, strings, and shuttle feathers. Add gentle shadows only with a very pale colour, and keep the faces bright so the friendly rally feels energetic.
