Australian Cattle Dog Page

A hardworking Australian Cattle Dog stands beside a ranch gate while two tiny cattle graze far across the field. These tough herding dogs have upright ears, compact bodies and speckled coats. Colour the fur blue-grey with black and tan patches, or red-speckled with warm brown markings. Keep the tiny spots light and evenly spaced instead of filling every area. Use natural brown for the gate, soft cream and brown for the cattle, and fresh green and gold for the field. Begin with the face mask and larger patches, add the speckles patiently and finish the ranch background softly so the alert dog remains the main focus.
