Archery Colouring Page

Archery is the skill and sport of shooting arrows from a bow toward a target. Bows were used by many cultures for hunting and defence long before archery became a modern recreation and competition. Today's target archers shoot from a marked line at a round face divided into coloured scoring rings. The centre is worth the most points, but accuracy grows through calm repetition rather than force. Recurve bows have limbs that curve away at their tips, while compound bows use pulleys; beginners often learn with light equipment chosen for their size. An archer stands sideways, places an arrow on the bowstring, raises the bow, draws smoothly, aims, and releases with a relaxed hand. A consistent stance, gentle grip, level shoulders, steady breathing, and the same anchor point near the face help arrows group together. Archery builds focus, posture, coordination, patience, and self-control. Range safety is strict and simple. Children must learn from a qualified adult, point bows only toward the target area, keep fingers away from an arrow's path, and wait for commands before shooting or collecting arrows. Everyone stays behind the shooting line until the range is declared safe. A bow is never aimed at a person, animal, or object outside the target zone, even when no arrow is fitted. Archers respect turns, equipment, officials, and one another. This picture shows a young archer drawing a light bow on an outdoor range while a coach supervises from behind. The target, shooting line, bow stand, boundary rope, and empty space ahead make the safe direction clear. Colour the target rings in the familiar order of gold or yellow near the centre, then red, blue, black, and white toward the edge. The child's bow can be red, green, blue, or a natural wood colour, while the arrow fletching can use two bright shades. Choose a strong colour for the arm guard so this useful protection is easy to spot. Make the shirt and trousers complementary colours, the field green, and the range path tan. The coach can wear calm colours and a bright safety cap. Use curved strokes along the bow limbs, straight strokes on the arrow and range lines, and small careful strokes around fingers, string, and target circles. As you colour, follow the arrow's safe path from the shooting line to the centre of the target.
